DAY TRIP ROUTES – EASTERN MILLS
Take the roads less traveled through our beautiful Ozarks to explore historic mills, crystal-clear springs, scenic byways, and miles of trails. No matter what the season, you are sure to be amazed at the natural splendor around you.
50 miles to Boze Mill: Take Highway 160 east toward Alton. Stay on Highway 160 in Alton and travel 14 miles. Turn left on County Road 152. Boze Mill will be ahead in 2.4 miles.
24.4 miles to Greer Spring Trail: Leave Boze Mill and take County Road 152 back to Highway 160. Turn right on Highway 160 and drive to Alton. In Alton, turn left on Highway 19 north. Go 8 miles and the parking area for Greer Spring and Trail will be on your left. (It is a 0.9 mile hike to the spring.)
.5 miles to Greer Mill: Continue on Highway 19 to the mill. It is on the left and easy to miss. There is not much of a parking area at the mill.
13.6 miles to Turner Mill: Continue on Highway 19 for 3 miles. Turn right on County Road 3152. Go 6 miles then turn right on County Road 3190 for another 2.6 miles to a small parking area.
16.7 miles to Falling Spring Mill: Backtrack to Highway 19 then turn right. Travel for 5.5 miles to County Road 156 and turn right. Go left at the fork and in 2.6 miles, the parking area will be on your right.
53 miles to West Plains: Backtrack to Highway 19, then turn right and continue to Highway 60. Turn left on Highway 60. In 34 miles, take left ramp for Highway 63 South to West Plains.
